Gu Qin

For thousands of years Guqin has played an important role in Chinese music history.  It acts as cultural heritage for the people and has accompanied the Chinese civilization throughout the century as the people spread throughout the land.  Guqin has a very rich tone and it also has a set of independent and complete system of notation. Another name for Guqin is '7 strings instrument'. It has  the most number of overtones in all the musical instrument in the world. Similar to the Gu Zheng, it however does not have moveable bridges.
